Card Org Chart

Turn a CSV of your people data into an organizational chart on your Miro board — cards for every person, elbow connectors for every reporting line.

How it works

1

Choose a layout

Vertical for a classic top-down chart, or horizontal for deep teams that grow left-to-right.

2

Upload & map your CSV

Point the wizard at your name, employee ID, and supervisor ID columns, then pick up to 20 extra columns as card fields.

3

Get your chart

Cards and reporting lines are created near your viewport using a Buchheim tree layout — compact, symmetric, no overlaps.

Features

Two layout modes

Vertical and horizontal tree layouts, with an IC stacking pass that keeps large teams of individual contributors compact.

Conditional formatting

Color cards by field values — pick a field, a text or numeric condition, and a theme color (presets or fully custom).

Edit cards from the panel

Select any card to view its fields and update values in place — changes sync straight back to the board.

Hardened imports

Uploads are validated before anything touches your board — file type, size, and row/column limits are checked up front.

CSV requirements

Employee NameBecomes the card title. Rows with an empty name are skipped.
Employee IDStable identifier per person — work email works well. Matching is case-insensitive.
Supervisor IDMust match another row's Employee ID. Empty or unknown means the person is a root.
